If your child has a life-threatening emergency (such as loss of consciousness, unresponsiveness, respiratory distress, uncontrolled bleeding) you should immediately call the EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE (EMS) 911. Please have vital information ready, such as the address where you are now, the phone number, and nature of the problem.
If you suspect your child has ingested a poisonous substance, you should call the Poison Control Center @ 1 (800) 222-1222 and follow instructions that are given. Keep any empty containers on hand and take with you if instructed to bring your child to the Emergency Department. See www.maripoisoncenter.com for details.
If you think your child needs to go to the emergency room in a non-urgent situation, you should call our office first (during and after hours). We can facilitate your care by informing the emergency room staff of your situation and needs.
